| Special Requirements |
| Non-standard items can be manufactured to suit specific requirements such as
unusual angles, back outlets, special fixings etc. Please contact the Technical Services Department with your
enquiry. |
| |
| Performance |
| STRUCTURAL MECHANICAL |
| AQUA-LINE is highly resistant to impact breakage, easily supporting ladder
weights. |
| FIRE |
| Non-combustible to BS 476: Part 4: 1970 (1984). Melting temperature for aluminium
is approximately 660° C. |
| CHEMICAL |
| AQUA-LINE is corrosion resistant but should not be used in areas where acids or
detergents occur. |
| BIOLOGICAL |
| AQUA-LINE is vermin and rot-proof. Pipes should not be used as part of a soil/waste
disposal system. |
| THERMAL |
| AQUA-LINE is designed to fully accommodate thermal movement at every joint. |
 |
| |
| COMPATABILITY |
| Direct aluminium contact with dissimilar metals or with materials containing lime
or cement should be avoided. The polyester coating is an insulation, but a liberal coating of bitumen will be an
additional safety factor in these situations. The use of aluminium in conjunction with copper roofs, claddings or
flashings should be avoided. Contact Alumasc for advice where heavily polluted atmospheres are involved. |
| AQUA-LINE may be used with new fibre cement slates, and the use of copper 'rivets'
in slate systems is also considered to have a negligible effect. |
| DURABILITY |
| AQUA-LINE should have a low maintenance life in excess of 40 years in rural suburban
conditions and in excess of 25 years in industrial and marine conditions. |
| EXCEPTIONAL WEATHER CONDITIONS |
| Alumasc advise that the designer and contractor satisfy themselves that the
application is suitable. Extra fixings, brackets and snowboards should be considered where appropriate. |

| Design Details |
| FLOW CAPACITY |
| The flow capacity for AQUA-LINE is base on BS 6367, the gutter being laid nominally
level. The design rate of 75mm/hour is suitable for eaves gutters where overflow is not likely to occur inside the
building. Flow rates are affected by system length, angles, roof pitch, falls etc. |
 |
| LOADINGS |
| Alumasc rainwater goods are designed to withstand water loads in excess of those
produced by average weather conditions for the UK as stated in BS 6367: 1938. Snowguards are however recommended in
case where sliding snow may cause damage to the rainwater systems or to persons or structures below. |

| Model Specification |
